RCC’s 2023 Year-End Review
It’s hard to imagine what the RCC might look like 5 years from now, but it’s easy to be proud of the growth, mutual encouragement, and richness of relationship we’ve experienced as a community in the last 5 years.
In 2023, RCC continued to facilitate several programs launched in years prior, including the Community Calls, the Racial Healing Initiative, and the community survey. Our conversations have been well-attended, and the majority are available as video recordings on our active YouTube channel.
In years past the RCC community gathered multiple times a year for small in-person retreats with peers. This year we convened 35+ retreat center leaders for the Annual Retreat at Five Oaks in Ontario, Canada. We also met up with retreat center leaders from the Midwest for a 2-day regional retreat at Lindenwood in Indiana.
As a new addition to our portfolio of offerings, RCC coordinated quarterly meetings for the Midwest Centers and the Catholic Centers Affinity Groups throughout 2023, as well as a handful of collaboration hub conversations.
The Sustainability Study was one of RCC’s larger undertakings this year, and the resulting Sustainability Toolkit is now available on this website.
Looking to the year ahead, the RCC is committed to deepening our work on racial healing and resilience, coordinating a number of affinity groups for retreat center leaders, and setting a full table of Community Call topics throughout the year that will benefit all tastes and appetites.
We invite your center to join RCC this year as a supporter. Your support helps nurture this expanded community of practice that benefits retreat centers across the US and Canada. Together we are co-creating the future of RCC.
These milestones could not have been reached without the supportive commitments of:
Our organizational partners and the philanthropic support of the Fetzer Institute and the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
The guidance, mentorship, and key insights of the Stewardship Circle and Listening Circle.
The collaborative efforts of the Racial Healing Initiative team and RCC’s partners at the Center for Healing and Liberation.
The enthusiastic participation and initiative of community members like you.
Thank you for being a part of this journey!
