The Seed Podcast: Conversations for Radical Hope

The Seed is a new podcast from the Pendle Hill Quaker retreat center in Wallingford, Pennsylvania. Each episode features a conversation exploring “the world growing up through the cracks of our broken systems.”

The Seed

The idea for a podcast started with Francisco Burgos, the Executive Director of Pendle Hill. Francisco envisioned an audio series that would expand upon the transformative dining-room-table conversations already happening at the retreat center. His dream was to create a virtual space where an even wider community of seekers could gather to examine their lives and find new ways to relate to a broken world—with beauty and a sense of hope.

Hosted by Dwight Dunston, a Quaker hip-hop artist and facilitator from West Philly, each episode explores the heart, creative talents, and unique insights of members of the Pendle Hill community and beyond.

The conversations are at turns thoughtful, lighthearted, questioning, challenging—and always hopeful. Framed by music and contemplative pauses, the words sink deep and put down roots.

Listeners are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences; to deepen their understanding of the world as it is—to find out how, together, we can create the world that might be.
